We know that you do not instruct a solicitor for fun! Normally, you instruct a solicitor when there is a need to do so and that need generally arises when you have a problem or are presented with an opportunity which requires specialist advice.
When you do instruct us, we will make the process as simple and pain free as possible. After all, life can be stressful enough without your solicitor making things worse! However, in order that we can offer you the best service possible we will need to work together.
We will often need to review any documents and correspondence that you have and we will undoubtedly ask a lot of questions. It is important that we have the full picture and that you provide us with clear instructions regarding what you want to achieve. Don’t worry, we will help you through this process but the more you can do to provide us with the complete picture, the better job we can do for you and ultimately this will reduce the fees that you have to pay.
We are happy to receive new enquiries via this website, via email or over the telephone. Whichever way you choose to contact us, we will deal with your enquiry quickly and efficiently on a no-obligation basis.
All instructions that we receive are subject to our standard terms and conditions, unless we agree otherwise.
Our core values
Whatever situation you find yourself in, when you instruct Grid Law Solicitors, you can be assured of three things – expertise, a personal service and value for money. These are our core values and we will never do anything to compromise these.
Expertise: Our focus is on providing you with the very best advice. Our legal expertise combined with industry knowledge ensures that we fully understand the problems you face and any opportunities that may arise. We also understand that in today’s market clients do not have one solicitor who they turn to for all of their legal needs. A team of professionals is often needed to provide a full service and we encourage this. We regularly work alongside other solicitors and where necessary can recommend additional expertise to ensure that our clients receive the best possible advice in all circumstances.
Personal service: We try to develop a close working relationship with all of our clients and tailor our services to each client’s own, preferred way of working. We are often complimented on our friendly, approachable style as being a refreshing change from people’s past experiences of the legal system. This is something that we are very proud of and comes from being passionate about what we do and really caring about achieving the best possible result for all of our clients.
Value for money: Legal fees can be a sensitive issue but this need not be the case. Our approach is to be open and honest about our fees. We offer a free initial consultation during which we will try and understand what you want to achieve, explain what needs to be done to achieve this outcome and what the likely costs will be. Where possible we work on a fixed fee basis, agreed upfront, so that you know in advance what your total bill will be. Fixed fees are normally not appropriate for dispute work so in these situations we will always consider a “no win, no fee” type arrangement if appropriate.
Whatever we agree in relation to our fees, we will always try to offer a service that is the best value for money and proportionate to the issues involved. Our clients never have to fear a ticking clock each time they pick up the phone to ask for some advice.
